Water engineering merger consolidates SKM's South American position
Global project management specialist Sinclair Knight Merz (SKM) has continued to build its South American presence after merging with Chilean water engineering consultancy firm IRH.
IRH specialises in the implementation and management of projects related to water supply, water networks, urbanisation, stormwater systems, water and sewage treatment, environmental management and hydraulics.
The merger with IRH is the latest move by SKM to expand their Chilean and South American presence, with the firm consolidating its position after its 2005 merger with Minmetal, one of Chile’s largest engineering and construction management firms.
The merger will see IRH’s team of around 60 people incorporated into SKM’s Chilean operations.
The merger with IRH will see SKM involved in a number of private and public contracts, including CODELCO, Aguas Andinas, Essan, the Government of Chile Public Works Department, a range of large commercial and retail clients, and Chile’s largest petrol retailer, Copec.
