The Role
The ALS Environmental Division in Newcastle is seeking a full-time experienced Micro Laboratory Team Leader to join a team that strives to exceed client expectations by delivering quality results on time.
The successful applicant will work along with the management team and assume responsibility for their team and the safe, efficient, timely operation of their tasks in accordance with company policies and procedures. Plus provide their team with leadership, guidance and technical information relating to their duties.
The day to day
Responsibilities include:
- Coordination and running of the day-to-day operations of a microbiological laboratory and the team.
- Preparation and analysis of water, samples for a variety of tests throughout ensuring that analytical procedures and associated tasks are conducted in accordance with the ALS Quality Work Instructions including QA/QC.
- Organising designated tasks to maximise daily efficiencies.
- Completing all tasks and analyses within both the time and the relevant analysis standards.
- Highlighting anomalies in results and sample type and sample behaviour.
- Preparation and analysis of microbiological samples.
The essentials
- Microbiological experience in a commercial testing laboratory
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational and time management skills.
- Perform housekeeping duties as required.
- Desire to work in high-throughput, customer-focused environment, with preference given to those with previous commercial laboratory experience.
- A strong desire to exceed client expectations by delivering quality results on time.
- A genuine interest in the Science Industry preferably with relevant qualifications within the science field.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
