Senior Control Systems Engineer

Role Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading team delivering control systems engineering solutions for Water Corporation projects. The role involves programming, configuration, testing, and site commissioning of replacement PLCs, RTUs, and communications equipment. You'll work closely with the Lead Engineer and Project Manager to ensure successful project delivery.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

• Tertiary qualification in engineering with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in control systems engineering.
• Strong experience in water treatment, water movement, and wastewater systems.
• Expertise in ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, as well as company policies.
• Competency in PLC platforms: Schneider, Koyo, and Siemens.
• Proficiency in RTU platforms: Schneider SCADAPack RTU.
• Experience with SCADA HMI platforms: Clear SCADA/EcoStruxure Geo SCADA Expert.
• Strong understanding of process control communication protocols: DNP3, Modbus, OPC, Profinet.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including electrical drawings, testing/validation documentation, commissioning plans, and change management records.
• Proficient in PLC software development using IEC languages such as FBD, SCL, and LAD.
• Expertise in drive interface design, including VSD, E/DOL, and Soft Starter.
• Familiarity with interfacing PLCs to instrumentation via communication protocols or hardwired signals.
• Proven ability to provide high-level technical support and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Program, configure, test, and commission replacement PLCs, RTUs, and communications equipment.
• Collaborate with peers, other discipline engineers, and draftspersons to meet project goals.
• Provide technical support to ensure control system designs meet project and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure accurate documentation, testing, and validation for all control system components.
• Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues during commissioning.
