Irrigation Project Manager

 

Manage, support and grow the Irrigation division for a Roma-based Agricultural development specialist.

Salary: $110,000 - $130,000 Per Annum

With multiple projects currently underway in the Maranoa Region, specifically in Roma QLD, a Irrigation Project Manager is required to manage and support day-to-day activities on site.

The Role
Reporting to the Company Director, the Irrigation Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing project activities whilst leading, directing, and mentoring team members to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and exceeding client expectations. The Irrigation Project Manager will act as the company’s representative on site and will work closely with clientele, contractors, and suppliers alike.

Your duties will include, but not be limited to:
  • Overseeing the development, preparation, and installation of irrigation projects including:
    • Agricultural Systems
    • Drip Line Irrigation Systems
    • Pump Stations
    • Pipeline Installation
    • Trenching and excavation
  • Rostering, training, and performance managing a team of multi-skilled operators.
  • Assessing, procuring, and managing delivery of parts and equipment needed as per project’s requirements.
  • Assisting with the arrangement of additional contractors when required, ensuring correct documentation is provided.
  • Monitoring all site operations, ensuring they are completed to the highest quality and meet QA standards.
  • Undertaking and overseeing strict daily recording of all project/site activities.
  • Ensuring all tools, plant, and equipment are being diligently maintained and cleaned by the team.
  • Managing on-site adherence to company safety systems and worksite compliance.

About You
Our ideal candidate will have hands-on technical experience across farming and irrigation, coupled with strong leadership skills and a desire to further their career within the business. They will show strong commitment to customer satisfaction, safe working practices, and promote a supportive and collaborative team environment. Further experience in the Civil, Resource, or other similar industries will be highly regarded.

To be considered for the role, it’s important you can address the following criteria:
  • Previous experience developing and installing irrigation systems.
  • Solutions-focussed and flexible, actively demonstrating the ability to find innovative alternative solutions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with team members and site personnel alike.
  • Versatile skills surrounding general farm maintenance and development (i.e. basic welding and mechanical maintenance, machinery operation, etc)
  • Excellent planning and record-keeping skills, including the efficient use of various computer systems and software.
  • Civil / Agricultural machinery experience (Excavator, Skid Steer, Trencher, Tractor, Bulldozer, etc)
  • HR / HC truck licence (not essential, though highly desirable)
  • Full Australian working rights
To support operational demands, the successful applicant will be able to work a 2-week on / 1-week off roster.
