About the role
As a Project Officer you will support the PEMP program working in the passionate Natural Assets and Heritage Team. The role includes procuring and managing contractors, maintaining PEMP documentation, internal reporting and conducting site inspections. You will spend about 3 to 6 days a month on site. You will have opportunities to engage and learn from specialists including internal subject matter experts with environmental and heritage expertise.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, and someone that fits into our positive and supporting team culture, to help us deliver Sydney Water’s strategy and vision.
About you:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering or Science (or similar) and minimum 3 years’ experience in a relevant field
- Ability to project manage, prioritise multiple workstreams and deliver projects on time, within budget and to a high standard
- Experience in managing external contractors and their deliverables
- Experienced communicator comfortable interacting with internal and external stakeholders and / or regulators
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate risks and develop alternate options
- Ability to work as part of a team in a changing and challenging environment
- Awareness of relevant NSW and Commonwealth environmental legislation
- Ensure environmental approval pathways are followed in accordance with environmental legislation, environmental management system and delegations.
- Support the heritage team as required and based on your interests and experience.
